Thomas Winant first encountered Haskell in 2011 and has been a functional programming enthusiast ever since. Following his bachelor's degree in informatics from the KU Leuven, Belgium, he obtained a master's degree in computer science in 2013, and a PhD in computer science in 2018. During his time as a PhD researcher, he contributed to the partial type signatures language extension to the Glasgow Haskell Compiler.
He is a proponent of functional programming languages with strong static type systems, as they facilitate the development of safe, correct, and modular code.
