Roman Oliynykov is a Ukrainian cryptographer, IT security researcher and lecturer. He graduated from Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics in Ukraine in computer engineering and security. His PhD is in symmetric cryptography. Roman’s professional experience includes the development of Ukrainian cryptographic standards: the Kalyna block cipher and the Kupyna hash function. He lectures on software and network security, general cryptography and cryptocurrencies in Ukraine, South Korea, and Norway. He is also involved in training of Ukrainian cyberpolice officers. He joined IOHK in 2016 and specializes in consensus protocols.
