Michael Hueschen specializes in functional programming and has a background in programming language theory. He began his career at Galois, building applied research prototypes such as a multi-party-computation compiler and interpreter toolchain, and a lightweight network tripwire. He has been working in Haskell since 2012, after discovering it during a search for a powerful language to construct correct code while building a rideshare routing optimization engine on an undergraduate research grant.
Michael has been interested in blockchain and cryptocurrency since 2017 and joined IOHK’s team in 2018. He holds a degree in computer science from Northwestern University in the US, where he studied compilers and static analysis with Professor Robby Findler.
