Rob Cohen has been deeply passionate about information security for over two decades, working previously as a penetration tester for both the public and private sector. He began to study cryptocurrency systems in 2013, and has since had a strong belief in the potential for cryptocurrency to help the underserved. He graduated from IOHK's Haskell and Cryptocurrencies course in 2018 and has confidence in the power of functional programming and formal verification to produce dependable, trustworthy, and secure systems.
Rob has served in the armed forces for seven years in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science-mathematics from Columbia University, and a bachelor's in economics and political science from Brown University. He is presently studying part-time at Georgia Tech to earn his master's degree in computer science.
